We’re the Scott family—two busy parents, two amazing kids, and a calendar packed with travel, tournaments, and just enough downtime to catch our breath.

I’m Thomas, a sales manager who’s usually on the road for work or on the sidelines for youth sports. My wife Kaylee, is a registered nurse, travel planner, and logistics mastermind who somehow keeps the rest of us fed, clothed, and (usually) on time.

Our kids? One’s in college, Summer, learning to adult. The other’s a sports-loving pre-teen, Preston, whose tournaments have taken us across states and time zones—and inspired this whole idea.

Why Goalposts and Getaways?
Like a lot of families, we’re trying to find that sweet spot between commitment and connection. Sports keep us grounded. Travel keeps us growing. And somewhere in between, we realized our weekends were turning into memory-makers.

We started this blog to share those moments—road trip wins, hotel hacks, hidden gems near fields and stadiums, and real talk about what it’s like to raise a family on the move. If you’ve ever had to choose between a beach vacation or a bracket, this space is for you.
